The ASIC/1-6100-MB VAV controller features a BACnet MS-TP interface and is intended primarily for retrofit applications where the existing damper actuator motor can be re-used. The controller is mounted on a metal base and shares the same footprint as an ASIC/1-6000 or -6100 controller. It can be used with electric heat or hot water valve reheat, and fan powered boxes. This model of the ASIC/1-6000 controller family is suitable for pressure-independent applications, and includes an onboard calibrated airflow sensor.
The controller requires no programming. After assigning a unique device address and selecting from the available pre-programmed personalities for VAV applications, the installer sets the appropriate duct area and airflow K-factor to finish the setup process.
Zone temperature is monitored with a temperature sensor from the ASI WS-0x1 family, with pre-tuned PI algorithms to accurately maintain space temperature. The controller features after-hours override, a user temperature adjustment range, and lighting control features.
The controller maintains space temperature by varying the air volume, and is mounted on the VAV terminal being controlled.
