April 13^th 2009 Firmware Release: ASIC/1-6000 FW600a1.9 Zone Control Mode

ASIC/1-6000 FW600a1.9 supports an improved sequence to determine the Zone Control Mode: Heating, Cooling or Deadband. The controller:

Enters Cooling from Deadband when the Zone Temperature is greater than the Active CLG Temp SP
Enters Deadband from Cooling when the Zone Temperature is less than the Active CLG Temp SP by 1 degree (0.5 degree if Half Degree Enable is Yes).
Enters Heating from Deadband when the Zone Temperature is less than the Active HTG Temp SP
Enters Deadband from Heating when the Zone Temperature is greater than the Active HTG Temp SP by 1 degree (0.5 degree if Half Degree Enable is Yes).

Other changes in this release include:

The IFan Heating Only feature for intermittent fan personalities is modified so that in the Heating Mode, the Fan comes On only when the Heating Calc is Not zero;
If Primary AF SP = 0 primary damper is now driven closed!;
The Heating Analog Output is also set to Minimum when the Primary Airflow < Electric Heat Minimum Airflow Setpoint.

April 10^th 2009 Firmware Release: ASIC/1-8800 Single, Dual Duct and Tracking VAV

Firmware 880a1.0 for the ASIC/1-8800 has been released for production. A limited number of prototype ASIC/1-8800 Dual Duct and Tracking VAV Controllers are available for field trials. If you would like to evaluate the ASIC/1-8800 or upgrade your prototype to the latest firmware, please contact technical support.

Dec 9^th 2008 New Product Announcement: WS-MOD Digital Wall Sensor
The WS-MOD Digital Display zone temperature sensor is used in conjunction with the ASIC/2-7540 or ASIC/2-8540 controllers for measuring ambient zone temperature, for displaying and modifying the Temperature Setpoint, and for initiating afterhours operation.

The wall mounted sensor utilizes a precision thermistor to measure and display the zone temperature. The thermistor's high change of resistance creates a large signal that eliminates lead wire resistance problems. The information from the WS-MOD is polled on the local bus of the ASIC/2 controller using Modbus protocol.

The WS-MOD will be available for order in early 2009.

Nov 19^th 2008 New firmware ASIC/1-6000 FW600a 1.8 has been released for field evaluation. A new proportional plus integral airflow control algorithm improves the approach to airflow setpoint. As the damper drives the airflow toward the setpoint, the output begins to pulse, in 1/6 s increments. The smallest non-zero Airflow Hysteresis gives the fastest approach to setpoint. As control approaches the setpoint, the airflow error is summed over time. The Airflow Integration Time [Typical 4] is the time required for a 25 ft/min error to sum to give an additional pulse. To enable this algorithm you must give the Airflow Integration Time a non-zero value.

Other updates include: Single Setpoint Deadband for WS-051; Word values of Input 2 and 3 now report correctly; and Dual Heating now works with Electric Heat personalities (FW600a1.7).

Nov 6^th 2008 Recent updates include: Improved performance with ASIC/1-6000 controllers; Added support for 1200 baud; and ability to flash the forthcoming ASIC/1-8800 firmware. FlashDev-2008.zip is available for download and includes the lastest firmware for the ASIC/2-7540, ASIC/2-8540, ASIC/1-6000, and ASIC/1-8655 controllers.

Sept 30^th 2008 WebLink 3.0 is released. ASI WebLink 3 is the next generation webserver for OPC networks which combines the features of WebLink 2 and ASI Monitor. It includes the following enhancements.

All user, location, group, SMTP setup, alarm, event and trend data is now stored in an open-source Firebird database.
There are now 8 levels of access for pages and points: 0-Guest, 1-User1, 2-User, 3-User Browser only, 04-Operator, 05-Supervisor, 06-Expert, and 07-Administrator.
Alarm and Events monitoring and alerting is built into WebLink.
SMTP e-mail notification of Alerts is built into WebLink.
WebLink, Remote Point, and Notify COV/COS Trends are built into WebLink.
User Editor is built into WebLink and can be accessed by an administrator over the web.
Group Editor is built into WebLink and can be accessed by an administrator over the web.
Location Editor is built into WebLink and can be accessed by an administrator over the web.

June 03^rd 2008 New firmware, ASIC/1-8655 FW655a2.1 is available which fixes bugs and adds several new features.

Fixes a Fan Wait Timer Bug when switching rapidly between Occupied and Unoccupied.
Upgraded Lights Operation. Fixes Lights Occupied Enable so the lights go On and off with Occupied State. Adds Lights Default Off option. Adds Lights Delay Off timer in Minutes.
Fixes problem with compressor not on in CLG when HTG O/R Off.
Adds State Default Unoccupied option.
Adds Occupancy Delay Timer when going from OCC to UNOCC.
Adds Single Setpoint Deadband (T3, E52) to Single Setpoint feature for WS-051 Digital Display.
Adds CO2 Economizer Maximum Position.
Adds Auxiliary Occupied Output feature when Aux Heating is not used.

May 21^st 2008 New firmware, ASIC/1-6000 FW600a1.6 is available which fixes a problem with Input Types 148,149 ZT10kType 2 and with 164, 165 ZT10kType3 not being recognized as Zone Temperature. This was causing all the outputs to lock out.

February 1^st 2008 New firmware, ASIC/2-7540 FW754a2.3 and ASIC/2-8540 FW854a2.3, is available which adds two new features to the Encode object.

Encode Type 1, Load Balance keeps track of run time for each stage. It may be used to even out the run times of multiple stages by keeping track of the ON times for each stage.
Encode Type 2, Rotate allows rotation of the order of outputs based on the value returned by a Rotate Handle.
Encode Type 0, FIFO is unchanged and may be used as a First-In First-Out encoder.
